This was a very exciting project to be part of!
This backyard was very rundown and a tired space. Getting started we painted the back wall of the house black, which is then the rest came together. Our clients said the back area around the side of their house was a dead area, which they didn’t ever use. The pool was looking tired and the lawn even worse. We started with a designing and building the decking and pergola, decking is Merbau, and has a hidden fire pit which is 900mm wide and 8mm thick. Its quality throughout. We then added the pergola, no metal fixings, all the timbers have been cut to slide together like a jigsaw.
We added plants along the back and side wall, as well as lighting on both sides of the back wall. Fairy lights on the pergola roof, including a heat lamp and power points for a projector for them summer outdoor movie nights.
Pulled up and removed the old tired lawn and laid the stunning synthetic lawn, honestly these lawns have come so far in such a short time and it’s hard to tell its not real grass when you first look at it. The final and most exciting aspect of this back yard… we turned a very tired looking sea container pool into a work of art, the artist and his work mate, spend 5 long days turning the walls into a work of art!
This has only been the start of the clients back yard make over. Next we will be starting on the alfresco area, designing and constructing this job from start to finish. Part 2 coming soon……
