After living in their home for over 30 years, our clients decided it was time for a change—but with that came a great deal of apprehension. Understandably, this home held years of memories, and the idea of renovating while continuing to live on-site was daunting. They came to Taurus Property with a clear goal: to modernise key areas of the home—particularly the kitchen and bathroom—while preserving the comfort and familiarity they cherished.
From the outset, communication was central to the project’s success. With our clients living through the renovation, and a much-loved indoor cat that had never ventured outside, extra precautions were taken every day. The home was left spotless at the end of each workday, and the team ensured the cat remained safe and stress-free throughout. Our clients were kept informed at every stage, with regular updates helping to build trust and ease concerns.
The kitchen was transformed from a closed-off, L-shaped layout into a bright, open-plan space featuring a central island bench for improved flow and functionality. Shaker-style cabinetry added a timeless elegance, while timber-look floor tiles brought warmth and texture to the room—blending practicality with aesthetic appeal. In addition, to enhance natural light and create a stronger connection to the outdoors, part of the dining room external wall was removed to allow for the installation of wider, modern floor-to-ceiling glass windows.
The bathroom received a full modern upgrade, with floor-to-ceiling complementary tiles and a sleek glass shower replacing the outdated fixtures and old shower curtain setup. These changes not only enhanced the look of the space but significantly improved its functionality.
We also reworked the front office to improve flow and functionality. The old carpet was replaced with the same durable timber-look tiling, and we removed part of a wall to widen the entryway. This allowed the space to connect more naturally with the kitchen area while reducing visual clutter.
Despite the complexity and sensitivity of the project, it was delivered over three months and remained comfortably within budget. The result? A beautifully modern home that respects the past while embracing the future—something our clients were thrilled to see come to life.
